I've also been successful in using the "convert/save" feature of VLC and it is able to rip the Blu-rays to MP4s (again using the same drive), but this is inconvenient since it has occasional issues with grabbing the wrong audio track, the video editing software I use doesn't play nicely with the MP4s when I try to stitch together movies that come on multiple discs. The confusing thing about this is that VLC can open and play any of these discs without an issue, using the same drive.
